📡 Vi 5G Delhi Rollout: Key Details
Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the rollout of its high-speed 5G services across the Delhi-NCR region, as part of its larger plan to cover all 17 priority circles—where it has acquired spectrum—by August 2024.
To power its Delhi-NCR deployment, Vi has partnered with Ericsson for infrastructure and implemented AI-driven Self-Organising Network (SON) technology to ensure optimal network performance. The operator is using a 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) architecture, allowing seamless transitions between 4G and 5G for enhanced user experience.
The Delhi rollout is part of Vi’s ambitious ₹55,000 crore capital expenditure plan over the next three years. As an introductory offer, Vi is offering unlimited 5G data to users with 5G-compatible smartphones on plans starting at ₹299.
Users can expect faster downloads, buffer-free streaming, low-latency gaming, and real-time cloud access. Vi confirmed that Bengaluru and Mysore will be the next cities in line for the 5G launch, with expansion to additional key markets underway.
In Mumbai, where 70% of eligible users are already enjoying Vi’s 5G network, the telco offers eight unlimited prepaid plans starting at ₹299 and four postpaid unlimited 5G plans.
