Vivo has officially launched the T4 Ultra in India, bringing notable upgrades over its predecessor, the T3 Ultra. While the specifications on paper are impressive, the real-world performance of the Vivo T4 Ultra is yet to be fully tested.
Meanwhile, the Vivo T3 Ultra, introduced last year at a starting price of ₹31,999, continues to deliver excellent value for money. With the T3 Ultra now available at a more affordable price, the question arises — should you save money with the older model or invest in the new T4 Ultra? Here’s a comprehensive comparison of both devices based on key parameters such as price, camera, display, performance, and battery.
Display Comparison
The Vivo T4 Ultra features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 5,000 nits peak brightness, 2160Hz PWM dimming, HDR10+ certification, and Eye Care protection. In contrast, the T3 Ultra sports a slightly larger 6.78-inch AMOLED panel, also with a 120Hz refresh rate, but with a lower peak brightness of 4,500 nits.
Processor and Storage
The T4 Ultra is powered by the advanced 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset coupled with an Immortalis-G720 GPU, promising enhanced performance. It supports up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
On the other hand, the T3 Ultra is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor and offers up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. While both phones deliver solid performance, the T4 Ultra offers more headroom for multitasking and storage needs.
Camera Setup
The Vivo T4 Ultra offers a clear upgrade in the camera department with a triple-lens rear system, including a 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor with OIS, a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
In comparison, the Vivo T3 Ultra includes a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens, lacking the periscope functionality.
For selfies, the T3 Ultra has a 50MP front-facing camera. The T4 Ultra, however, features a 32MP front camera with support for 4K video recording and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS), offering better video quality for content creators and video calls. Full camera performance results will be shared in our in-depth review.
Battery and Charging
Both smartphones come with a 5,500mAh battery, ensuring all-day usage. However, the T4 Ultra supports faster 90W wired charging, while the T3 Ultra caps out at 80W.
Price and Value
The Vivo T4 Ultra is priced at ₹37,999 for the base variant, which includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. In contrast, the T3 Ultra starts at ₹27,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, with the 8GB + 256GB model currently retailing at ₹29,999.
