Ahead of the official launch, Vivo has confirmed key specifications, particularly related to battery and camera features. Notably, the foldable is also believed to have surfaced on Geekbench, revealing more about its expected hardware.
Vivo X Fold 5: Confirmed Features

Battery: Vivo X Fold 5 will feature a massive 6,000mAh battery, the highest ever on a foldable. This is a step up from the 5,500mAh battery on the X Fold 3. The phone uses 4th-gen silicon-carbon anode tech with up to 12% silicon content, allowing Vivo to pack a larger battery into a slim design.
-
Durability: The foldable will come with an IPX8/IPX9/IPX9+ rating for water resistance and IP5X dust protection — a notable durability enhancement.
-
Camera: Vivo has confirmed a Zeiss 3x periscope telephoto lens, with optical zoom support, along with additional camera upgrades.
Vivo X Fold 5: Expected Specifications
-
Processor: Likely powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, according to a Geekbench listing spotted by tipster Abhishek Yadav — an upgrade over the Gen 2 chip used in the predecessor.
-
Display: The device will sport an 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a 6.53-inch outer screen and an 8.03-inch 2K inner foldable display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits peak brightness. It will also feature PWM dimming and TUV Rheinland Eye Protection 3.0 certification.
-
Camera Setup: Expected to include a 50MP IMX921 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP IMX882 periscope telephoto camera, along with a 32MP front camera for selfies.
-
Other Features: The foldable is expected to support Apple Watch pairing, iCloud integration, and dual-device connectivity with iPhones — hinting at strong cross-platform capabilities.
Global Launch Outlook
Following its China debut, the Vivo X Fold 5 is likely to roll out in global markets. Vivo previously launched the X Fold 3 Pro in India but skipped the standard X Fold 3. With no Pro variant announced yet, there’s a possibility the X Fold 5 could launch in India as well.
